#2 This week we will be learning about Deborah.

In my research and readings about Deborah, she was called a worshiping warrior.

She is the only woman judge and the only one to be called a prophet.  She found courage and strength in worship to be obedient to the Lord and what he asked of her.  The Lord calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things that can be accomplish through the Spirit.

Deborah is a decisive figure in the defeat of the Canaanites.  She inspired the Israelites to a mighty victory over the Canaanites oppressors.  Judge 4 & 5

She asked Barak to lead this battle and he asked her to go with him.  “Very well,” she replied.  ” I will go with you, But you will receive no honor in this venture, for the Lord’s victory over Sisera will be at the hands of a woman.  “So Deborah went with Barak to Kedish.  Judges 4:9

Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth, was a prophet who was judging Israel at the time.  Judges 4:4
